Seoul Museum of Art, in 14 years since its first settlement at the Jongnogu Kyunghui Palace site in 1988, opened its doors as a new Museum built in Junggu Seosomun-dong. The Chun Kyung-ja Collection was prepared to commemorate this opening, and works on display at the exhibition include: her donated works, publications, photos and visual aids. Viewed in this intimate manner, the artist's extraordinary life reaches through the work to touch viewers with her rich scent. The Chun Kyung-ja Collection comprise of donated pieces painted in the period between 1940's and 1990's: a sum total of 93 astounding works that encompass self-portraits, various portraits, and landscapes or drawings from her travels abroad. Among this Collection, assorted works such as the illustrious colored paintings previously found in collection books, early studies, and body drawings are of special note.

Seoul Forest Open Air Sculpture Symposium

¡Û Seoul Forest Open Air Sculpture Symposium, which is opened on 29th June 2006 was the exhibition to commemorate the 1st anniversary of Seoul forest. 15 sculptures from magnet, prominent and new sculptors are displayed in 1,000 pyeong in the family ground of Seoul forest.
¡Û It is held in the format of sculpture symposium, and going to be displayed permanently in Seoul forest. Figurative and non-figurative sculptures made out of marble, bronze and stainless are newly produced exclusively for this exhibition. Representative sculptors of Korea including magnet, prominent and new participate in this exhibition.
¡Û Venue for exhibition is ¡®Family ground¡¯ in Seoul forest, 1,000 pyeong, where people come by the most. The sculptures are set up to preserve the original place in harmony with nature.
¡Û The sculptures displayed in Seoul Forest, a resting place for Seoul citizens, will provide an opportunity to experience open culture to those who want to relax in the middle of the city, functioning as a cultural infrastructure, as well as joy and excitement in 365 days of the year.
